Ziptales is an online language arts website custom-built by trained educators. Our mission is to strengthen literacy growth in children – preschool through elementary school – using a blended platform supporting students, parents, teachers, and librarians. Ziptales is based on the latest research into how children develop and sustain a love of reading. We strive to make children more avid, effective readers by providing them with a service that caters to their individual needs and interests. We believe reading unlocks the key to learning and fosters future success! Watch this video, in which Brian will explain Ziptales' goals and amazing features!

We offer over 600 modules of educational content.

Ziptales offers online resources that are broken up into a "Preschool" section (ages 3-5), a "Developing Literacy" section (Foundation/Prep to Year 2, ages 5-8), and an "Extending Literacy" section, (Years 3 to 6, ages 8-12).

Ziptales believes that excellence in reading leads to excellence in learning. According to Dr. Hollis Scarborough, skilled reading is not a unilateral process but a series of interlinking concepts. Like any skill, proficient reading requires habitual, consistent practice over time. Ziptales' goal is to make that practice a source of fun for children of all ages!

    Ashley - Johnston County Schools
  • “Normally if you are doing a reading program, you usually hear moans and groans, but with Ziptales it’s the complete opposite! It is a fantastic program, and you know it is working because they get excited about reading.”

    Rachel - Atwell Primary School
  • “As my son enters preschool, I feel confident that he knows his letters and has even learned site words. I really have Ziptales to thank for that; his eagerness to log in and learn makes me proud.”

    Jill – Ziptales home user
  • "Borrowers young and old alike adore Ziptales!"

    Estelle - Carmarthenshire Libraries
  • “I’m a great advocate of Ziptales, as I have seen children who hate reading suddenly transformed into avid readers. I have seen children with problem behaviors suddenly improve and become proud of their reading.”

    Mila - Lakewood Elementary School
  • “I really like Ziptales because it motivates our students who were somewhat behind in their reading. These students need interesting content, but with a level of text that they can manage. Ziptales gives them that.”

    Dianella - Carmel Primary School
  • "We use Ziptales as shared and modelled reading in our literacy block. The students love the variety of text types and are particularly partial to the funny or yucky stories (as all 10-year-olds are). Over all two thumbs up to the Team at Ziptales for injecting some fun back into reading.”

    Tracy – St. Bernadette's P.S.
